Google+ Pages

Google+ has launched Pages, finally giving businesses a way to reach out to users on the rapidly growing social network.

A couple notes before getting started:
• You must have a Google+ account to set up a Page.
• The person who sets up the page will be the administrator. As of right now, you cannot add multiple admins, so choose wisely. Continue reading

Amy Atkinson Nominated for an Athena Award

The Lakeshore Athena Award is presented annually to recognize women who demonstrate excellence and creativity in their profession, devote time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in their community, and actively support women in realizing and achieving their full leadership potential. The award program is a coordinated effort of The Chamber Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg; the Holland Area Chamber of Commerce and the Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce.

Close Up on Customer Track

Andy Shooting Customer Track videoCustomer Track, an exclusive service from WM Carnet, is a foremost provider of special finance leads for prospective automotive sales for car dealers nationwide. To better their sales presentation method, the team at WM Carnet partnered with RC Productions to produce a video that would replace their existing slide-based tool.

RC Productions video production team, led by Andrew Atkins, shot on-location at a large auto dealership, then returned to the studio to record WM Carnet founder Denny O’Brien’s voice-over. Post production was completed in our state-of-the-art, in-house HD studio.

Has Social Media Replaced the Traditional News Source?

In the past couple years, it’s been reported that more and more people get their news from social media rather than traditional news sources (television, newspapers, and news websites), and that fact became even more apparent with the recent natural phenomena that struck the East Coast. Many first heard about the Virginia earthquake by reading their news feed on their Facebook wall and, rather than visiting CNN or MSNBC, they turned to Twitter for up-to-the-second reports. Within minutes we knew the location of the epicenter (Mineral, VA), the magnitude (5.8), and how people across the country were reacting.

Facebook Changes: September 21, 2011

RC Certified

Facebook has updated its interface again, and these changes seem to have struck a nerve with more people than normal. The most noticeable difference is the disappearance of the Most Recent and Top News links at the top of the main page. They’ve been replaced with categories that compartmentalize stories by time frame: Top Stories (since a user last logged in), Recent Stories, From Earlier Today, and so on.

“Live-streaming” events have moved to a ticker in the upper right corner. Hovering or clicking on an item launches a pop-up window that shows comments and gives users the ability to comment without leaving the main page.
